On this page I've composed tips and tricks to prepare and have a successful newborn shoot with me. Please don't hesitate to reach out further with any questions I may have missed.
I can't wait to see that little one in the studio soon!!
This may be a hard one, and totally don't stress it, but try to keep baby awake before the session/on the car ride there. Not to the point of being cranky and over tired, but a good happy medium where they're ready to doze off when they get here. (Plus you can feed them right when you get here too, BAM, extra sleepy!)
I wouldn't say this is the hardest one of them all, but the one you have to commit to the most. My studio isn't like most newborn studios, with a dark room and a flash only for a millisecond when the camera clicks- my studio is all around bright and white and babies can tell! Try to get baby accustomed to the light in the days/weeks leading up to your session. Otherwise, babies will be completely awake and looking around due to the light.
Every family is different. Bring what you think you'll need. Diapers, burp cloths, extra formula/milk, a sound machine, blankets, whatever your little family needs for the hours you'll be away. And don't forget yourself- bring snacks and drinks! (I do have bottled water on hand for clients.)
Come in with baby ready to go. Either in just a diaper and tons of blankets, or an already white outfit. That way we can just get baby started and not have to worry about waking them up during an outfit change!
Another tip- if you chose to have baby come in their white outfit ready to go, aim for an outfit that you can unbutton underneath so you can do a quick diaper change when you get here rather than having to pull an entire outfit over their heads.
For mom: I have a client closet of a few gorgeous white dresses you can choose from. Otherwise, bring your own white dress or white shirt, whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident!
For dad: A plain white tee or a white button down are perfect options with tan khaki's being the go-to to match the aesthetic.
For siblings: Same as mom/dad! A beautiful dress or t-shirt and khaki's.
